The Adventure Begins

Hey Friends and Family,

We are so thankful you are joining us on this journey. I am excited to be writing this post because it is the beginning of a story. The story of life chosen, excitement, lots of emotions, hurt, and even fear. It's the story of how God has and is turning brokenness into beauty. If you are not familiar with adoption and the process well, it is a very thorough process to qualify you to become parents for a child needing a home. It can be an emotional roller coaster of a journey where community and a great support system is very needed. Expecting mom's who chose adoption are sometimes homeless, are in dangerous situations, or at a point in life where they feel they are not able to adequately care for a new baby or child. That is where we come in. Our hearts have been wrecked for children who need a home, love, support, and honestly sometimes refuge. This story isn't about us, It's about God and His love for the orphaned. We are just saying yes to the stirring HE has placed in us as a family.

At this time we are choosing to work with an Adoption Consultant because our military career may bring us a move during this process and we are looking to prevent disruptions. We are seeking domestic adoption meaning we desire to adopt a child from the United States. Using a consultant adds to the overall cost of adoption which ranges between $30,000-$50,000+ when going through an agency. This particular consultant group usually has you matched within 5 months of becoming active. That is quick! And this is where we can use the help of our community to make this a reality. The cost to begin is more than we had planned so we are going to be running a couple opportunities for you to help change the world for a child.

The first steps of this process has already begun with us gathering paperwork and working out finances. Our first home-study meeting is scheduled for next week! We will keep you posted on how that is going.
